Chicken is a major poultry in my country, and chicken and eggs have a very large market. Chicken farming is also a major project in the development of my country's aquaculture industry. There are many ways to raise chickens now, and free-range farming is a common way of raising chickens. The meat of free-range chicken is firm and chewy, which is very popular. So, how to raise free-range chickens?

Seed selection

The varieties of free-range chickens are generally dominated by native chickens, because native chickens have high market demand, strong growth ability and strong disease resistance. The chicken house should be built in a place with convenient transportation, leeward, sufficient sunlight and normal drainage and irrigation. This kind of place is not only conducive to the growth of chickens, but also facilitates the feeding work. The chicken coop should do a good job in planning the lounge and sports field. Then prepare sinks, troughs and temperature control facilities. Reasonable regulation of the breeding environment can promote the growth of chickens.

chick rearing

The chick period is within two months of hatching. Chickens at this time are more fragile and have a lower survival rate in the first ten days. Chicks have strict temperature requirements, so it is necessary to control the temperature. Chicks' temperature requirements change with age. In the first 3 days, the temperature needs to be controlled at about 35°C, and then lowered by about 1°C every 3 days, until the temperature is stabilized at about 25°C in about a month. Then, strengthen the management of chicks, control the breeding density according to the age, and do a good job of light control, maintain day and night light within one month, and reduce the daily light time appropriately after one month.

young chicken rearing

The youth period is when the growth rate of the chicken is very fast, this period is within 3 months after the brooding period. Usually at 4 months, its body size has gradually approached that of an adult chicken. Young chickens generally need to be fed in the house, water and food troughs should be prepared in the house, and then the roof of the house should be a sloping roof to prevent rain and water leakage. When feeding young chickens, the male and female should be kept separately to prevent strong phenomena. Control the daily feeding time according to the age of the month. Usually, chickens from 2-3 months need to be fed about 3 times a day. It can be reduced once after 3 months. If it is a breeder, do not feed too much each time to avoid eating too full, which will delay the laying period and affect egg production.

Disease control

Common diseases of free-range chickens include colibacillosis and trichomoniasis. These diseases are very harmful to the growth of chickens, which will greatly increase the mortality of chickens and affect the efficiency of breeding. We must do a good job in the hygiene of the chicken house, remove chicken manure regularly every day, disinfect the chicken house, strengthen management, and do a good job of ventilation. Then pay attention not to feed spoiled feed and drinking water, and control the breeding density. Regularly observe the growth of chickens. When abnormal conditions are found, they should be isolated in time, check the specific conditions, and then treat symptomatically.
