Advantages
High-density adaptability
The standard A-type laying hen cage (such as 3-layer or 4-layer stepped type) can house 15 to 20 laying hens per square meter , which is 3 to 4 times that of the flat rearing mode. If the stacked A-type cages (with manure removal and egg collection systems) are adopted, the density can be further increased to 25-30 chickens per square meter, significantly reducing the "land cost per chicken" for chicken house construction.
Individual isolation and observation
Type A cages are usually "single cage with multiple chickens" (such as 3 to 5 chickens per cage) or "single cage with single chickens" (commonly used in breeding farms). The chickens have a fixed range of movement, allowing for quick observation of the mental state, feed intake, and fecal conditions of the chickens in a single cage. Sick chickens can be detected and isolated in a timely manner to prevent the spread of diseases (such as Newcastle disease, avian influenza, and coccidiosis) throughout the flock.

The quality of egg products is more stable and meets commercial demands
After the eggs are laid, they should be directly rolled into a clean egg collection belt to avoid contact with chicken manure and feathers, reducing the risk of contamination by pathogenic bacteria such as Salmonella
The feeding amount and growth environment of the chickens are consistent, resulting in more uniform egg weight and eggshell thickness, which meets the demands of food processing plants and supermarkets for "standardized egg products" and is convenient for bulk sales.
It is convenient for data-driven management
Full-process traceability: The automated records from feeding, egg collection to manure removal can form an "egg product traceability file". If there are any egg quality issues in the future, they can be quickly traced back to the specific chicken house or cage, meeting the requirements of food safety supervision.
Products automation

Precise and controllable feeding
The cage door and the feeding trough of type A cages are fixed in position and can be combined with chain feeders or screw feeders to achieve "timed, quantitative and uniform feeding", avoiding the problems of "missed feeding and overfeeding" during manual feeding, and reducing feed waste (feed costs account for 60%-70% of the total cost of laying hen farming, and precise feeding can reduce feed loss by 3%-5%).
Egg collection automation adaptation
The bottom of the stepped or stacked A-type cages usually reserves A track for egg collection. After the eggs are laid, they can be automatically rolled along the track into the egg collection system without the need for manual picking up one by one. This not only reduces the labor intensity (one person can manage 10,000 to 20,000 caged laying hens, while the flat rearing mode can only manage 3,000 to 5,000), It can also reduce the damage to eggs caused by human touch (the damage rate of caged eggs is usually less than 2%, while that of free-range eggs is 5% to 8%).

Fecal removal has become more convenient
The A-type cage can be equipped with scraper manure removers and crawler manure removers to promptly clear chicken manure and centrally transport it outside the house, preventing the accumulation of manure inside the chicken house, reducing the labor of manual manure removal, and simultaneously lowering the ammonia concentration inside the house.
The environment is easy to regulate.
Under the cage rearing mode, the temperature, humidity and ventilation volume of the chicken coop can be precisely controlled by mechanical systems (such as fans, water curtains and hot air furnaces), avoiding the stress caused by external temperature differences and humidity fluctuations to the chickens.
